Unlocking Problem Resources

Halide extractive metallurgy is extremely powerful. At Loop Hydromet, we liken halide leaching to ‘cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer’.

That power is why the Halion LoopTM doesn’t need high pressure autoclaves, and can run at less than 100°C. It is also the reason why it doesn’t need fine or ultra-fine grinding like competing processes, and can easily leach polymetallic concentrates.

The Halion LoopTM doesn’t need high grades, and can operate effectively and efficiently at far lower levels than competitors, particularly smelters.

There is no penalty for arsenic in our technology, and can economically operate at very small scale.

Put that all together, and it means that miners (big and small) can now choose to save a fortune at the mill, producing lower-grade, coarse, polymetallic, bulk and ‘contaminated’ concentrates that the Halion LoopTM can readily process.

Unlocking Polymetallic Resources

The Halion LoopTM can extract and recover a broad range of elements from across the periodic table.

Copper seldom occurs in isolation. It is almost always found with other useful metals: nickel, cobalt, silver, gold, platinum group metals (PGMs), lead, zinc, rare earth elements (REEs) and more. Deleterious metals like arsenic are also common.

The Halion LoopTM has been designed to capture the useful co-product and by-product metals above, and to stabilise the deleterious metals for safe disposal.
